"Encounter You Again" is a song past American country music creative person Carrie Underwood. It was written past Underwood, Hillary Lindsey, and David Hodges. It was released as the fourth and final unmarried from Underwood'south fourth studio album, Blown Away, on April fifteen, 2013. Underwood announced the unmarried on her official Twitter business relationship.[1]

Underwood debuted the song on the 12th flavor of American Idol on April 4, 2013.[ii] "Come across Y'all Again" is Underwood's eighteenth consecutive Top 10 unmarried on the Billboard Hot Land Songs chart and is also her seventeenth single to exist certified at least Gold past the RIAA. As of December 2013, the unmarried has sold 740,000 copies in the United States.[three] On Baronial 10, 2015, "Encounter Y'all Once again" was officially certified as Platinum.[4]

"See You lot Once again" tells the story of moving onwards after experiencing the death of a loved i in life. The lyrics provide hope and promise through Underwood's belief that 1 will reunite with every fallen loved one in the afterlife. The song's opening consists of a solo piano, followed by a backing chorus and band kick in before long after.

"Encounter You lot Once more" was originally one of iii songs written for the 2010 characteristic film The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. Of the three songs that Underwood, Hodges, and Lindsey co-wrote for the picture show, the workers behind the project opted to choose "At that place's a Place For Usa." Underwood pushed to include "See Yous Again" on her fourth studio album, Blown Abroad, during the writing procedure of the anthology.

The song has received positive reviews from music critics. Billboard.com described the song to be "truly a taste of heaven."[2] Kevin John Coyne of Country Universe included the song in his personal favorite tracks from the Diddled Away studio album in the website'south 2012 year-end countdown of editors' favorite Country albums of the twelvemonth,[vi] as did Matt Bjorke of Roughstock for their album countdown.[7] Liv Carter of Urban State News gave the song a "thumbs up", calculation "what pulls it over the line however, and presumably why it has become a fan-favorite, is its sincerity in wishing to bring comfort and Underwood's confident performance."[8] Jonathan Keefe of Camber Magazine was less favorable, saying that "the chorus of power ballad "Come across Y'all Again" is marred by dated, campy arena-stone clichés."[9]

The vocal debuted at No. 60 on the United states of america Country Airplay chart for the week of April xiii, 2013,[ten] and peaked at No. ii for the nautical chart dated September seven, 2013.[xi] It entered the Billboard Hot 100 at No. xc for the chart dated May 18, 2013,[12] and peaked at No. 34 for the chart of August 31, 2013.[13] It too peaked at No.7 on the Hot Country Songs chart on August 24, 2013. As of December 2013, the single has sold 740,000 copies in the United states.[3]

On August 10, 2015 "Encounter Yous Once again" was officially certified equally Platinum.[4]

Live Performances [edit]

Underwood performed the song in May 2018 during an episode of American Idol in which she mentored the superlative five contestants.[14] The vocal was included in the setlist for the Weep Pretty Tour.[15]

On June seven, 2013, Good Morning America gave a commencement look for the music video for "See Y'all Again". The full video premiered soon after on ABCNews.com.[17] The music video was directed by Eric Welch.[xviii] It showed the aftermaths of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting, the September 11 attacks and the 2013 Moore, Oklahoma, tornado, along with various reunions.
