World of Tanks Fall Damage Kicks in Too Easy

I really don't understand fall damage. Some times you can go off a ledge and be fine, and then another time doing the exact same thing, you lose half your health, 2 crew, and have your modules.

I don't understand it either. It is the eighth wonder of the world. Legend has it, that the more vodka you consumed prior to the battle, the less fall damage you will take.

The only thing I've been able to come up with is that if your tracks make contact first, the damage is absorbed by them. If it's your hull, then the armor, crew and modules absorb that damage. Just my personal observations really.

I think it depends if you hull hits the ground or not. Tanks with a lot of ground clearance seem to crash less often. My russian tanks can fall down from orbit and be fine. My leopard 1, on the other hand... it blows up if dares jump 1.5 feet.

Yep, one of the MANY bullship crap things that should change with this game that Wargaming doesn't give a crap about fixing.
Because they don't actually want us to enjoy the game, they want us spending money trying to make the game suck less.
The problem with this is it's not the best model for success. Truly good company's make quality, and then they keep their customers, making plenty of bank.
Wargaming operates by greed instead. Not a rant, just what's become utterly clear per the facts and time seeing every aspect of this game and how it changes.

I watched an Obj 705 drive off a cliff on Airfeild, literally roll twice and land on his tracks and take zero damage(no idea about tracks) and a T-54 chasing him go relatively carefully go over the same cliff and die. I bet the 54 driver had some choice words for that one.

Soo.. What you're saying here is that WG is a company full of geniuses? They produce something bad and keep kids paying money for new things. That is good business in my opinion, spend a little to make a lot. I mean WG is a pretty trash company, but they are doing exactly what a business is supposed to do, make a ton of money while not spending a whole lot. Keeping people paying with little to no effort. You gotta admit that is brilliant.
I mean you kids whine and cry all the time, but you're still here, still playing, still buying things from them.
Really makes you wonder, doesn't it?

That's what I was thinking... seems to work that way from what I've seen.

I came off the small slope near the spawn on Hill - hit a small rock - and died (full health).
A T-49 fell off the aircraft carrier in Glacier, bounced, repaired track and zoomed off.
It has to be the tracks.
And a dash of RNG.

Not saying it doesn't "work".... Lot's of bad things "work" but that doesn't mean it is "good" for everyone involved.
It's not a genius statement to say that they could develop a quality product that people don't have to swear at every other game, and STILL make good money.
They know what I'm talking about. They know how many people leave this game, and how many of them would LIKE to stay, but don't because they don't care about making tanks "fun" (but instead make them work like donkey crap), and how many of us stay because we are Masochists or "too invested" to leave fully or for very long. I actually wouldn't have come back had it not been for AW utterly failing in implementing its vision. They did a lot to improve the experience, but some of the biggest problems of WOT they didn't actually fix and even starting going backward with the year or two ago major update by making so many tanks slow ruining auto-loaders etc.
The first test server iteration of that update shows how really bad their thinking was, they literally made every tank in that game as slow or slower than WOT's tanks. While they ultimately reversed most of those nerfs to tank performance in later test server iterations and the game itself, they didn't get rid of all, etc. especially to Heavy's. So, I'm back here, at least lights are somewhat playable in this game, so I'm still playing, put too much money into it to stop really.
